Electrolysers and fuel cells are the centrepiece of every hydrogen system. Electrolysis is the key process in hydrogen production, whereby various technologies have been developed to meet the different requirements of use and energy demand. From alkaline electrolysers to proton exchange membranes (PEM), anion exchange membranes (AEM) through to solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOEC), each type of electrolysis offers specific advantages.
At Weidmüller, we have extensive experience with all of these hydrogen technologies and offer customised solutions in electrical connectivity and automation to support efficient and reliable hydrogen production and use worldwide. Our stack monitoring solutions, cell voltage measurement boxes and connectivity for electrolysis stacks enable you to guarantee optimal performance of your systems. Our precise measuring and monitoring systems provide real-time data for monitoring cell voltages and thus achieving maximum efficiency.
The compact PV combiner box PV Inline with SPD Type I+II is used in
rooftop PV installations. It protects the PV system from overvoltages, including lightning strikes. In the event of an overvoltage, it creates a ground connection. Thanks to its space-saving design, the surge protection device (SPD) is particularly suitable for confined spaces. It can be integrated into cable channels or mounted behind PV modules.
Building insurers and local fire brigades are increasingly demanding that rooftop photovoltaic systems switch off automatically in the event of a fire. This switch-off device must be placed where the string cables enter the building. Automatic switch-off occurs when the fire brigade switches off the building's power supply. When the power supply is restored, the PV Next Fireman Switch automatically reconnects the PV strings.
The monitoring of utility-scale PV systems at string level is crucial for detecting yield losses at an early stage and optimising the system's performance. By analysing individual strings in detail, defects, dirt or shading can be quickly identified and resolved. This maximises the efficiency of both new and existing systems and ensures high profitability in the long term. State-of-the-art monitoring technologies help to ensure reliable operation and minimise maintenance costs.
Our PV retrofit combiner boxes with wireless LoRaWAN communications help O&M personnel to allocate and isolate any field problem in a few minutes. The product features LoRaWAN communication, enabling quick on-site fault diagnosis and providing string-level data without additional cabling or trenching.
