With the RockStar® inserts from the HE series, you can wire heavy-duty connectors tool-free using SNAP IN connection technology. The sheathed, flexible conductor is inserted directly into the open connection point, without the need for tools or wire-end ferrules. The patented clamping mechanism closes automatically with a ‘click’ when in the end position, creating a vibration resistant connection.
Heavy-duty plug-in connectors from Weidmüller featuring SNAP IN mean fewer steps, less material and less time spent per connection. Efficiency in wiring that makes itself felt immediately in practice.
Thanks to the unique "mouse-trap principle", the SNAP IN connection connects in record time.
Material-saving wiring without tools and time-consuming crimping of wire-end ferrules.
Security you can hear! A noticeable “click” noise signals a secure connection.
The innovative SNAP IN connection can be wired just as reliably by robot as by hand.

Discover tool-free wiring of heavy-duty plug-in connectors with SNAP IN. The RockStar® HE inserts, available with 6, 10, 16 and 24 poles, are convincing with their ease of use, which becomes apparent in just a few simple steps.
The stripped conductor can be inserted easily and safely into the contact point without further preparation.
The conductor contacts in the contact point with a clearly audible click. The secure connection can also be identified visually by the rise in the pusher.
The pusher can be pressed to release the conductor quickly and easily at any time, pre-loading the contact point for further wiring.
The SNAP IN connection technology has been convincing for the ‘German Design Council’ across the board. The independent jury presented Weidmüller with the German Innovation Award 2022 in recognition of a connection technology that offers particular benefits and advantages over previous solutions. An award that also recognises the tool-free wiring in the RockStar® inserts.
RockStar® HE inserts with SNAP IN have proven their worth in machinery and plant engineering, energy technology, rail transport and field wiring. It is precisely in applications where connections have to withstand temperature fluctuations, vibration and mechanical stress that the tool-free wiring of heavy-duty plug-in connectors really pays off. Installation and maintenance times are becoming shorter, and on-site rewiring is becoming easier.
With SNAP IN, Weidmüller has created a connection technology that demonstrates the direction in which industrial connection technology is heading. Designed for manual and automated processes, engineered for efficiency in wiring.
With PUSH IN, the clamping point is closed – the conductor must be pushed in against the spring force, which requires a ferrule or a rigid conductor. With SNAP IN, the clamping point is already open and only closes automatically once the conductor reaches its final position. This means that even fine-stranded conductors can be connected without tools and without the need for a ferrule.
The fixed-pole inserts in the HE series are available in pin (MQT) and socket (FQT) versions in four sizes: 6, 10, 16 and 24 poles. All inserts can be combined with the RockStar® housing range. Anyone wishing to purchase heavy-duty plug-in connectors can order directly via the online shop or customise the right plug-in connector using the product configurator.
Yes. The SNAP IN connection technology is based on a tension spring mechanism that creates a permanently vibration resistant connection. Heavy-duty plug-in connectors are therefore also suitable for applications subject to high mechanical stress, such as in machinery and plant engineering or in railway engineering.
The RockStar® HE inserts with SNAP IN are compatible with flexible conductors ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 mm² – with or without wire-end ferrule. The units are designed for a rated voltage of 500 V and a rated current of 16 A (HE 06: 24 A).
With SNAP IN, the contact point is already open. Once the insulation has been stripped, the fine-stranded conductor is inserted without any further preparation. As soon as it reaches its final position, the patented clamping mechanism automatically closes with an audible ‘click’. The tool-free wiring of heavy-duty connectors thus reduces the time required per connection.
RockStar® industrial connectors with SNAP IN are used wherever power, signals and data need to be transmitted under demanding conditions. Typical areas of application include machinery and plant engineering, energy technology, rail transport and field wiring. The inserts are designed for a temperature measuring range of -40 °C to +125 °C.
Yes. SNAP IN connection technology is ‘ready-to-robot’ and designed for integration into automated wiring processes. The open contact point and the low insertion force enable reliable wiring by industrial robots.
With the PUSH IN connection, the contact point is closed – the conductor must be pushed in against the spring force, which requires a wire-end ferrule or a solid conductor. With SNAP IN, the contact point is already open and only closes automatically when the conductor reaches its end position. This means that even flexible conductors can be connected tool-free without a wire-end ferrule.
