Featuring Weidmüller’s unique PUSH-IN connection technology, feed-through terminals in the company’s new A2C 35 range offer fast, reliable connections for cables up to 35 mm2. The terminals are rated at 125 A at 1,000 V, and can be used with stranded or solid conductors, as well as with cables fitted with wire-end crimps. Other benefits include easy mounting, extensive options for cross connection, integrated test points and a voltage tap feature.
Users of terminals in the A2C 35 range simply insert the cable end, which has been prepared either by stripping or by fitting a wire-end crimp, into the terminal and operate a clamping lever with an ordinary screwdriver. The whole operation takes just seconds and produces reliable, gas-tight connections that are exceptionally resistant to the effects of shock and vibration.
At just 16mm wide, the terminals are compact and they are easy to install. They clip securely onto standard DIN rail or alternatively, versions are available which can be mounted directly on to a baseplate using the fixing holes provided and are also available in pre-assembled blocks for a range of different network systems.
Dual cross-connection channels allow potential distribution systems to be readily configured to suit almost any application and also facilitate system expansion to accommodate future requirements. For even greater versatility, cross-connects are available to interconnect A2C 35 terminals with A2C 16 and A2C 10 terminals, which have maximum conductor capacities of 16 mm2 and 10 mm2 respectively, for voltage distribution applications.
To facilitate rapid functional testing and fault diagnosis of the systems in which they are used, Weidmüller A2C 35 terminals incorporate a readily accessible test point. They can also be optionally fitted with a separate voltage tap that enables an additional low-current connection to be made. This is particularly useful when temporary supply arrangements need to be put in place, for example to provide emergency power upstream of the main switch.
Safety is a key priority in the design of all Weidmüller terminals and, with this in mind, large warning labels are available for use with A2C 35 terminals. These fit into the lever operating slot and also cover the cross connection channel, thereby helping to minimise the risk of unauthorised tampering.
A2C 35 terminals are available in standard dark beige versions for general purpose use and also in green/yellow versions for use in protective earthing applications.
