The AC SMART can be integrated into an external load management system via Modbus TCP. A list of Modbus registers can be found in the Weidmüller online catalog under Downloads. Below you will find step-by-step instructions on which settings you need to make in the web server to connect your AC SMART to an external loadmanagement system. You will also find a list of the systems compatible with the AC SMART, with the corresponding installation instructions.
Please note that the steps described here may only be carried out by trained electricians.
You can use all variants of our AC SMART VALUE and ADVANCED to integrate the AC SMART into an external load management system. These can communicate with the controller of the external load management system via Modbus TCP. A list of the external load management systems compatible with the AC SMART can be found later this page.
Once your AC SMART has been installed in accordance with the operating instructions (Weidmüller online catalog under Downloads) , you can start integrating your external load management system. The necessary steps are described in the following points.
1. A Modbus TCP interface is used for communication between your AC SMART and your external load management system. Therefore, please connect an Ethernet cable (RJ45) to the corresponding interface of your provider's controller and to the RJ45 Ethernet interface X2 on the control board of your AC SMART.
2. Open the web server of your AC SMART (see chapter 9.3 of the operating instructions). In the menu item Network under Local, DHCP must be deactivated and a static IP address suitable for the network must be assigned. The IP address set must be part of the correct subnet and must not already be used by another device. Confirm your selection with Save.
3. In the menu item Load Management under General activate the Satellite option. Confirm your selection with Save.
