Weidmüller receives the cabinet building innovation award

A jury of experts awards the Weidmüller Wire Processing Center (WPC) and the "Smart Cabinet Building" initiative.

This is the second time that Weidmüller has been awarded with the cabinet building innovation award. As one of the leading trade media in its sector, SCHALTSCHRANKBAU (eng: cabinet building) awards five particularly innovative products with an INNOVATION AWARD 2021. This year, Weidmüller even received the award twice. Together with Zoller & Fröhlich, Weidmüller received an award for its Wire Processing Center (WPC) that is used for semi-automated cable assembly and marking. The most time-consuming activities in cabinet building are still cable assembly, wiring and marking. The Weidmüller Wire Processing Center (WPC) offers an ideal solution for the semi-automation and increases efficiency in cable assembly by up to 80 %. The WPC consists of an automatic cutting machine, an automatic stripping and crimping machine and a thermal transfer printer.

The "Smart Cabinet Building" initiative, which was launched by the companies Weidmüller, Komax, Zuken and Armbruster Engineering, also received an award. The initiative has set itself the task of combining the possibilities of automation and digitization into a perfect interplay of product, process and means of production. "Smart Cabinet Building" thereby supports users in identifying new potential with needs-based, end-to-end solutions, resulting in increased efficiency.

The prize is awarded by an expert jury consisting of representatives from the cabinet building industry, teaching and research as well as the trade press for submissions that have been newly introduced to the market in the past year. With this award, the magazine’s editorial staff honours hardware and software solutions as well as services that enable the control cabinet industry to remain competitive in an increasingly contested market.
