ACT20P
Our analogue signal converters facilitate reliable isolation and conversion of analogue current signals
Our ACT20P analogue signal converters; a new member of our well-known ACT20 signal converter series. Consisting of three variants, the ACT20P signal converter delivers reliable protection of controls and remote I/O inputs against transients and voltage peaks. They adapt a wide range of signal variants to standard signals, and are HART transparent to allow easy integration with a HART communication system, in addition to being space-saving and efficient. Their properties make the ACT20P signal converter a low-cost, universal solution to all tasks involving the analogue isolation and conversion of current signals.
ACT20P signal converters are impressive with their rugged build quality and ease of use. Individually codable connectors prevent mismatching and ensure connections are always spot on. Also, devices are rapidly exchangeable due to a convenient release lever which permits easy removal of the connectors. Importantly, the slim design of ACT20P devices – only 12.5 mm wide, with up to two channels – occupies little space in the control cabinet (114 mm deep, 117.2 mm high) and they are easily mounted to TS35 mounting rails.
Plant sensors send differing analogue current signals depending on whether they are used to measure temperature, pressure, weight or distance. This often produces unwanted transients, which can lead to faults and damage the controller inputs. In systems and processes that are controlled by analogue current signals, the new ACT20P signal isolating converters offer a reliable and economical solution for signal conditioning and galvanic isolation of current signals.
An example of use for our ACT20P signal converters is for fault-free recording of measured data in water management systems. During the final step of water purification, quality values are checked. To this end, the signals emitted by the measurement devices are transferred over several hundred metres from the switching box on the last setting basin to the plant control room. There, they are recorded, analysed and stored. For a smooth measurement data recording process, our signal isolation converters filter out all of the faults and transients according to the latest provisions set forth in EN 61010
The three variants of the ACT20P series are the ACT20P-CI-CO signal converter, the ACT20P-CI-2CO signal splitter and the ACT20P-2CI-2CO-12 signal converter. The new signal converters are CE and UL certified; they also comply with international standards EN 61010-1, IEC61010-1 as well as IEC61326-1 and IEC 61000-6-4. The Weidmuller signal converter portfolio also includes the intrinsically safe ACT20X signal converter and the powerful yet compact ACT20M signal converter, measuring just 6 mm wide.
