Weidmüller is supplementing its modular electronics housing system 'CH20M' (Component Housing IP20 Modular) for individual electronics solutions with an extremely slim 6 mm variant 'CH20M6'. The new electronics housing including an optional mounting rail bus is characterised by what is to date the greatest possible use of space of any 6 mm housing. That offers the development engineer maximum layout and marking space. SMT capable connection elements as well as an SMD-bus contact block facilitate automatic component assembly. Production benefits from the fact that the 6 mm electronics housing can be processed from start to finish in ‘reflow’ soldering operations – an extremely cost-efficient method, as no subsequent manual rework is required. The new 5-channel mounting rail bus offers a solution for supplying power to, connecting and networking all modules from the CH20M family of housings – from the 6-mm slice version to the 22.5 mm and through to the 67 mm large capacity housing. As is the case with the PCB connection technology the bus contact block is designed for the SMT "reflow" process and is supplied ready for automatic placement.
