The "new" online catalogue

Weidmüller’s "new" online catalogue has been available to its customers since the beginning of May. On the one hand the new improvements to the catalogue include a universally inclusive design that fits in seamlessly with Weidmüller’s modern website. And on the other hand numerous changes and improvements have been made to enhance the overall user-friendly experience and user guidance functionality.

Straight to the desired product

New navigation options in particular are a significant factor in the improved usability of the catalogue. Interactive "breadcrumb navigation" is just one example. This particularly user-friendly function sees navigation elements display the path to the category in the catalogue that the user is presently viewing.

Links enable the user to return to previously visited or higher-level categories or visit related web pages. "Image navigation" on the product level represents a further change for the better. This function provides images of components to simplify the search for the desired product category, enabling the user to quickly find a suitable product.

Clearly structured search results and product details

A further optimisation has seen the search function extended to include "suggest search" functionality, which offers suitable suggestions as the user types in the search term. That enables the user to search for and find the desired product much more efficiently. And what is more, the search results list is also much more clearly structured. As of now images of products are displayed next to the text, and there is also the option of directly downloading the corresponding data sheet. It is also possible to add the product to the inquiry list from within the list of search results.

The layout of the pages displaying product details has also been significantly improved. Tabbed pages enable the user to quickly find and view at a glance important product data without having to laboriously scroll through endless lists.
