Weidmüller’s unmanaged and managed Gigabit switches offer excellent network performance, security and reliability and are suitable for networks involving high data communications volumes in both branched subnets, as well as backbone applications. The switches support the use of many common TCP/IP based industrial network protocols, for example, EtherNet/IP and Modbus/TCP, enabling their use in a wide variety of applications.
Weidmuller Gigabit switches at a glance:
· All-purpose usage - A wide variety of· unmanaged 5-port gigabit
switches and managed 9-port full-gigabit switches ensure there
is the suitable module available for every application.
· Worldwide use - International approvals – ATEX, UL, Class I,
Div. 2, DNV and GL – enable worldwide use.
· Variable connection options - Universal connection· options to the
backbone via two gigabit combo ports with interfaces for
connecting copper or fiber optic cables.
· Plug and Play configuration – An external memory and
configuration module supports the simple replacement and update
of a switch configuration.
· Fault tolerance - The highest level of network availability is
provided by the ring redundancy topology with a recovery time
of less than 20 ms.
In addition, Weidmuller's NET Manager software is available to manage
your Ethernet networks:
· Automatic topology recognition and visualisation
· Event notification in real time
· Centralised configuration and Firmware administration
· Data communication reports and event logs
· High-end switch functionality - Universal application options in
industrial and backbone networks.
· The company's PoE switches operate from 24V supplies and feed
power to PoE enabled Ethernet devices with up to 30W
input power. The managed version also enables remote on/off
functionality and resetting of connected PoE devices via SNMP,
Web interface or via HMI/SCADA systems in combination
with SNMP OPC.
Weidmuller PoE switches at a glance:
· Reduced wiring - The power supply of PoE compatible end
devices comes from the data cable (such as WLAN access points);
this reduces the wiring work.
· All-purpose usage - Managed and unmanaged versions offer
universal deployment options for PoE switches.
· 24 V power supply for PoE - To enable simple integration in
standard electrical cabinets, the PoE voltage can be provided
by a wide range input between 24 V to 48 V.
· IEEE 802.3at/af compatibility - The extended power rating of
30 W per PoE port allows connection of PoE devices with power
requirements exceeding 15 W.
· Additional PoE functionality - For more control of field functions
such as switching PoE ports on/off; the managed versions offer
status control of PoE end devices including alarm signalling and
power consumption restriction.
