Volpert Briel (born 1955) began his career 1983 at Wende & Malter GmbH as assistant of the Managing Board and sales engineer. In 1988 he joined the US-company York International (BBC York) where he headed the building technology as well as the industry sector. In 1994 he restructured the GEA subsidiary Grasso, Berlin as Managing Director. Since 1997 Volpert Briel took Managing Director positions at ABB in the area of energy, medium voltage and process industry. In 2006 he started up and headed the global Division Small Hydro Power of the mechanical engineering company Voith. Volpert Briel was appointed member of the Executive Board of the Weidmüller Group in September 2009 as Chief Marketing and Sales Officer (CMO).
