Automation Award 2008

Weidmüller’s WAVE TTA takes second place at the Automation Award 2008

Trade visitors to this year’s Fair SPS/IPC/DRIVES voted Weidmüller’s universal signal conditioner and trip amplifier WAVE TTA into second place and in doing so awarded it the silver medal. The first place went to Hirschmann and its Ethernet Switch Octopus PoE; the reversing contactor Contactron '4 in 1' from Phoenix Contact was awarded third place.

Now in its tenth year the Automation Award is bestowed by the automation industry and is presented by the trade journal 'elektro AUTOMATION', which is published by the Konradin publishing group.

The prize is awarded to products that from a technological standpoint or for reasons of practical merit offer unique product characteristics as well as particularly innovative and user friendly attributes.

The Automation Award has risen to become the 'Oscar of the Automation Branch'. A knowledgeable and independent jury selects the TOP 10 products from all of the products submitted. These are then thrown open to the visitors to the trade fair SPS/IPC/DRIVES who cast a critical eye over the products and vote for their choice. The product receiving the most votes is awarded the Automation Award 2008.

WAVE TTA is a universal signal conditioner and trip amplifier that offers its user an outstanding range of advantages. It is an isolator, conditioner, transmitter, lineariser and trip amplifier in a single module and can be configured via a PC to meet different application requirements.

The Wave TTA processes the different input signals from conventional types of sensors precisely – no matter if temperature signals, such as resistance thermometers or thermocouples, potentiometers, frequency transmitters or DC voltage and current signals. The module isolates, transmits and linearises these sensor signals and supplies standardized analogue current and voltage signals to the output.

Precision measurement accuracy is a distinguishing characteristic of WAVE TTA.
