Hanover, April 25, 2006 | MTL Instruments and Weidmüller will in future be cooperating in their sales endeavours. The aim of the cooperation is to broaden the customer service operations of both companies in the field of automation engineering for the process industry. Working side-by-side with Weidmüller specialists, MTL Instruments markets Weidmüller products via world-wide specialist sales channels to the global process industry. This cooperation has begun in Germany at the beginning of 2006.
By taking this course both companies are rising to the challenge observed in automation engineering with plant manufacturers expecting their main suppliers to offer a comprehensive range of system solutions. Demands are growing for the components to be assembled before delivery and for the manufacturers to provide factory-tested system solutions. Step-by-step the process industry as a branch is moving away from individual brand-name proprietary products towards cross-vendor open standard components available all over the world.
As a result, MTL Instruments and Weidmüller are moving closer to the customer and are strengthening their respective positions as premium suppliers of connection technologies and open system components to DCS companies, system integrators and users.
CEO & President of the Weidmüller Group Thomas H. Hagen says "MTL Instruments has an excellent world-wide marketing team that focuses on the market for process control. MTL Instruments is in a perfect position to augment our existing sales channels and sell our products for process applications. The customer will receive factory-tested system solutions that he will be able to commission by utilising Plug-and-Play functionality. Depending on customer preferences and details specific to the plant operators, Weidmüller will work closely with MTL Instruments to the benefit of our joint customers."
Mr. Graeme Philip, CEO of MTL Instruments, adds "Weidmüller is a first-class supplier of components for electrical connection technology. I am looking forward to working closely with Weidmüller and strengthening MTL Instrument's position as the main supplier of components of open systems to the process industry."
