The ‘Design Plus’ award is one of Germany’s leading design competitions and has established itself as a ‘seal of quality’ for technically innovative products with sophisticated levels of design. The jury awards the prize for products that ‘harmoniously combine aesthetic qualities with functionality’. Weidmüller Interface twice received the ‘Design Plus’ award in the field of electrical engineering/house and building automation: for the socket block with tension clamp connection technology and the ‘release latch’ for socket blocks. The prizes will be handed over on behalf of the ‘Messe Frankfurt’ and the German Design Council at 14.00 on 23rd April 2006.

All products granted an award during the Light+Building fair will be displayed during a special showing in Hall 4.2. The competition is organised by ‘Messe Frankfurt’ in co-operation with the German Design Council (Rat der Formgebung).

Taking a holistic approach whilst evaluating the products, the jury took into consideration criteria such as design quality, selection of materials, practical value, technical quality, ecological quality and overall concept.
